Does anyone change their engine oil before the 15K Km interval? I plan to do mine at 5,000 Km regularly.
Fully synthetic oil is incredibly good these days. IMHO only hard driven turboed engines, tracked/thrashed cars or those that do short trips and never see operating temp need changing at 5k km otherwise you're pouring money and good oil down the drain. And if you do short trips but get the engine up to temp every fortnight on a decent drive 5k km is still excessive. I'm also yet to see evidence that oil deteriorates over time when it's in an engine irrespective of km travelled provide it's been at operating temperature eg in a low km weekend car. Mine gets changed at 7.5k km as it's conveniently halfway through the 15k km service interval.

For the high mileage I do, what's the recommended oil to use?
Mileage doesn't really make much difference unless you thrash it, just change no more than every 10k km and it'll be peachy. Any of the full synthetic brand name oils will be fine provided they're a 5W-30/40/50 just don't put a 10W anything in it and unless you really must I'd stay away from 0W. The 0W and 'recommended spec' oils are made to suit OEM requirements for passing emissions and fuel economy tests under perfect controlled conditions and nothing else which is why, as far as the engine is concerned, there's no real difference between an SL/SM/SN oil. For example MB went from 5W to 0W specifically for testing purposes but in the wild the variables are such that any actual benefit is negligible.
