Installed this mod on my 2017 GT-350R. It splits the belly pan in 2 pcs, allows for complete oil filter access, oil pressure sending unit inspection in just a few minutes. Raced-car grade Dzus lock it back together, rock solid.

No more working through a tiny hatch just to change oil.

What do you guys think?

Thanks! I'd like to take full credit, but this was a kit from S&S Engineering.

I don't know how I put up with that stupid access hatch for so long. What a PITA to change the oil.. always a mess no matter how careful you are.

Do you have a link? I hate changing the oil filter on my GT/PP through the hatch, which was held on with a crappy rubber connector, that broke after two oil changes, and is now zip tied.

Jack,

They have a website, but it's not on it. They said they are doing a new site soon that will have order taking ability. But, you can call them at (626) 334-6018. You may have to leave a message, but they will get back to you. I think it was about $150.

I can't believe Ford couldn't have come up with something similar.

So was that just for the Dzus fittings, or did they retrofit and provide a new belly pan? I can't really tell exactly what was changed from your pictures (and TBH, I've never been under a GT350).

It's the Dzus, brackets, full hardware, Uni-Bit, drills, full instructions. You follow the guide where to cut the pan ( like butter) and install the hardware. Easy day.

Probably a cost thing.
Wow. For the cost of an R, you'd think $20 per car (economy of scale) to NOT screw up a minor thing as an OIL CHANGE, would be money well spent.

You'd be amazed at what manufacturers penny pinch. The belly pan in comparison to this mod actually seems somewhat acceptable, at least based on what we know. I'm not saying this is a bad idea, it's great. But finance pencil pushers often get their way and the designers and engineers need to figure out ways to compromise.

Depends on your goals. If your goal is to change the oil and not worry about the mess, you can do it pretty easily through the window in the belly pan. If your goal is to change the oil without making a mess, then it's harder, but it can be done though the hole in the belly pan. If you want it easy and un-messy to change the oil, this mod's for you.
