Picked up the GT at Reading dealers this morning - just returned from the first jaunt....

First impressions are that this has the hallmarks of a fantastic car - makes up for all the hassle and frustration of the waiting !

It's definitely got presence on the road - lots of people turning to look and, oh my, the view down the bonnet is superb

Couple of minor niggles - which I think others have already posted - the drivers side wing mirror doesn't fold in fully (passenger side no problems) and there is a whine from the transmission (manual) under acceleration. I've discussed this with the team at the dealers and they are going to investigate and then get the car in for a once over.

Also, we definitely could do with forward parking sensors - the jawline of the car is a good foot in front of the top of the bonnet edge that you can see... I can already imagine someone is going to knock into something fairly soon when parking. Again, the service team at Ford have said they would investigate options - and are as amazed as most that there were no forward parking sensors on the car when designed/produced.

Now, where was my list of mods.... ah yes..... to work!

Mustang transmissions, the manuals at least, are not the quietest, but still worth checking to see if there's an issue.

Gowrings Reading - yes they did a good job. Attentive and good instructions on the stereo / nav etc. Only problem (and not caused by Ford) was that my mobile - an HTC one m8 - would not connect to the SYNC 2 system. Since getting home, I've found that I had not updated the phone to the latest android version - so that is in progress right now. Hopefully the updated android version will then be compatible with the Sync 2 Bluetooth implementation.

I assume the loom fix has now been completed? Do you get a record of this in your service history? I guess Ford may just log it against your VIN to confirm its been done.

I think it shows on Etis as an "Outstanding Field Action" until completed.

Just been out to wash mine as yesterday's commute in the rain for 100 odd miles had covered it in muck and that horrible salt residue. I was getting mucky opening the boot and the rear camera was totally obscured.

Some fun on the way back from London today, staying in 3rd and 4th and totally blowing away the mainly big engine Merc opposition, saw my consumption down to 15, but hey! what a ride and noise.
