Not when you include the clutch.
Properly driven manual clutches last well over 100k miles. Most over 150k miles. These are consumables. I agree, it's an added expense, but so is changing the auto transmission fluid and filter.

With that said, auto transmissions will wear out far quicker than their manual variants. Most seem to let out the ghosts at 150k to 200k miles.

Changes in transmission technology is leaving the manual transmission behind. Sooner of later it will be relegated to specialty car status. Having replaced 3 clutches and flywheels on my GT500's it gets a bit old after a while. None of my daughters drive a manual so I can't hand down my cars to them.

There is no doubt about that, however....a manual transmission has fewer wear items, no electronics to break and will still outlast it's auto brethren in longevity.

Wow, so the claim that the 4 and 6 cylinders are what keeps the mustang afloat is thrown out the window.
the ecoboost is within 2 points of the gt sales..

dont know if you read the numbers at all.

I don't think you understand the context of my post. It was previously thought that the non V8 sales is what really supported the mustang platform. For the S550 at least, the V8 sales are equally, if not more important.

my bad dude, the way I read it was that the 4 and 6 cylinder sales did not contribute to the total.

sorry bro!

I'd like to see further breakdown by color to see how rare my Comp orange pile of bolts is.

If you are interested in color breakdown for a particular year, have you tried contacting Ford customer service in Dearborn? I know back when I had my 2003 Cobra, I was able to find out that my Dark Shadow Grey convertible was one of XXX in that color out of a total of XXXX produced for that year.

Thanks for posting. Manuals are pretty rare.
