the 18" will have a real aluminum spun anodized metal engine start/stop button. No more cheap plastic button! ATTENTION TO DETAIL !!

Looking forward to all of the new high end interior changes that Ford made after hearing all of our complaints with the 15-17 models. Lots of new high end soft touch materials coming to the 18' Its all about the details !!

No more cheap hard plastic !!! woooo !! :clap2:

Hi there

My view is this:

MY18 GT PP: 459HP / 425lb/ft
MY18 GT PP with power pack: 480HP / 440lb/ft

Would really not be bad numbers at all for a factory GT car, a tuner like Lund would extra 500HP with a tune alone.

If something like GT 350 Power Pack 3 comes, headers, custom tuning this car will be making 550-570HP at the crank, pretty damn nice NA power that and from a 5.0l, pretty efficient too with good economy too.

What is not too like! :)

Combined with that 10-speed I can see some getting into high 3s to 60mph. :hail:

Interesting additional information regarding the new 7.0L truck engine.
I wonder if Ford can justify offering it in the S650.
Considering Ford's future product development plans and dedication to "green technology", could a 7.0L Mustang happily coexist with a hybrid brother?
It would be an awesome if it was offered as a crate motor...the possibilities would be endless...

Me too Joey. I bet you can't wait to get rid of your GTI. I had one of that vintage and ended up hating the pug ugly rear end. Sold it after three years. The new '18 Mustang GT is just a peach. The side view from the new wing at the rear to the modern hood is just perfect, much better than the old flat looking '15 car.
Yep I can't wait !!!

loving all the new details regarding the 2018.
All the stuff on the '18 are the things that really are going to set the car apart from the competition. Many should have been on it on release but I'm glad Ford got serious about these things and the '18 is going to be a hell of a complete all around car.

I agree. Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder I'm really glad they changed the front from the '15. The old one always reminded me of Ronaldinho.
LOL...

I'm glad the design team went with a new tri-bar look that will really make the Mustang recognizable with a light pattern like many cars have (Audi especially). Add in all the little interior details and we're getting way more then most get in a refresh...some could say this is just about a new model car with everything on it. New transmission, new gauges, New interior, new fascias, dual exhaust, active exhaust modes, adaptive suspension, new rims, etc. All they missed was getting the B&O in there.

Why I am buying a 2017 Ford Mustang GT

Direct-injection engines improve performance and save fuel, but at a price
Cars with this technology might end up in the repair shop more frequently

Read the article: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/02/pros-and-cons-of-direct-injection-engines/index.htm

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2012/12/should-you-buy-a-car-with-direct-injection.html/amp

;)

Its going to cost a pretty penny to repair down the road.
Oh and the fuel pressures are higher on Direct Injection - can we say fuel pump failures and fires? :tsk:

That's one reason the '18 has direct and port injection........

Fuel & Direct Injection

Another problem with direct injection is with ethanol fuel. Ethanol is known to speed up the corrosion rate of some metals that are used in an engine. With the higher pressure of a direct injection engine, and thanks to the fuel injector being exposed to in-cylinder explosions, there’s a higher chance of a problem or failure. Because of this, it’s more important to use higher quality fuels.
