I guess when you are talking fractions of a second any minor change will cause the time to vary. I struggle with that on my car. Since it is a stick it is hard to shift the car at the same RPM. The 1-2 shift is the worst since the traction affects how long the car stays in first. I think my car has an 11.2 in it with perfect DA and good driving.Hi KCC0521, my Dad is correct in his statement when going to different tracks in with different weather conditions, your mph can change dramatically. But I just got to review my data and here's what I found.
In the world of racing there are so many variables to fight, case in point...below are two data logs, the first is from a few weeks ago when the posi was slipping, but the tranny was hooking and I ran 11.22. You will notice the converter is lockingup in 2nd as we want it to (RED circle) and the 2-3 shift is crisper.
The second data log is from last night on my 11.03 pass, you will notice the converter didn't lockup and makes for a softer 2-3 shift.
This definitely would have got me the 10 second pass I'm looking for and I'm sure my mph have been back to normal also.
