Why am i waiting
Because the Ford scheduling software doesn't give a shit about your order date and only looks at size of dealer ordered from and its allocations. And from what I can tell it doesn't matter what your priority code is as well as my priority code 02 hasn't been pulled today.

Its a loaded lottery plain and simple. I should just get used to losing. Keep checking it seems some of the cotus software may be behind in updating.

The constrants posted were only applied to todays scheduling (weeks 42 and 43). Scheduling for week 44 will take place on 10/23. A new commodities list will be available around 10/20. Much can happen in parts delivery over 2 weeks and this weeks constraints don't necessarily extend to two weeks from now.

So i get all the frustration in the past 2 months, not getting a vin and such if you ordered early (May/June). Now I see guys with september/october orders and are getting vins and I just don't get it. Finally decided to contact my dealer and all he can say is " I haven't heard anything". Now I'm starting to get pissed.:rant:
Im getting the same thing. I ordered August 1.

As I had suspected. Another round of disappointment for many. I fully can see some retail orderer that ordered on 5/20 not getting a VIN until January or February of 2015 and not seeing their car until March. Nothing like a 10 month wait.

I don't see how that would be treating a customer right, just like I don't see how someone could have retail ordered as recent as last week gets a VIN and a May June or July retail orderer gets the cold shoulder again. I sound like a broken record but its my stance. I don't feel like getting into the same arguments again anyway. Chalk it up to shitty luck I guess.

I JUST ordered this past Saturday (Monday it went it), and my VIN number showed up today!! I feel terrible for all those still waiting for one....I wouldn't know what to do with myself!

Check the wiki for how scheduling works - there is a link on the black menu bar at the top of this page.

Short summary is that dealers are given allocations each scheduling week based on previous sales and current inventory. Orders for dealers with allocations are considered before dealers with no allocations. Once all allocations that can be built are scheduled then retail orders from dealers with no allocations are scheduled IF parts are available and scheduling slots remain.



If you want an order to schedule quickly:
  • Find a dealer with many allocations for the current week
  • Determine how many orders are ahead of yours at that dealer
  • Make sure that your place in line at that dealership has an allocation - if the dealer has four allocations that week and already has four retail orders, you take a risk of being delayed
  • Ensure that no other orders taken by that dealership after yours will be given a better priority (i.e. those additional orders may bump you out of an allocation) - ask for a "10" since they cannot enter any other order with a better priority and ties always go to the older order
It's unfortunate from a customer point of view that the system works this way. Low volume and small dealers take the brunt of frustrated customers but this is the way it always has been.

I'm starting to think that priority means about nothing. My retail order had a priority of 02 and did not get pulled. I think it all comes down to allocation while order date and priority be damned.
