Octane for PP2

Dumb question...
I purchased a pp2 for my 2017 GT in the spring and just haven't had a chance to have it installed yet and probably won't now til next spring. I understand that you need to run 91 octane with it however will the computer be able to adjust for 89 if necessesary. Just curious.

Yes, the copperhead PCM is pretty good at adjusting timing based on fuel and what is going on in the engine.

If it will run on 89 why do they state this quite clearly below, the word is required, not optional.
Premium fuel, 91 octane or higher, is required
