Hi guys,
I have a 2018 GT PP1 for 30 months now and I am looking at starting to do some little mod.

I will start with a steeda Hpipe and after that I would like a tune.

I heard that lund tune are nice so will probably go with them. But I have questions.

1) is it true the hpipe wont affect a tune?

2) I dont see canned tune from lund, I guess you select no mod and thats it?

3) If I want to buy programmer now and tune later, which programmer to get for lund tune?

4) I was thinking of keeping the stock intake for now. Good idea?

Thanks
Stephane

H pipe will not affect tune in anyway. Only thing it really changes is exhaust tone and volume. It will also reduce some weight. Lund, PBD and AED are all reputable and solid tuners. On 18+ tune alone will not net much power. Real power can be gained by tuning for e85 if available in your area so definitely consider that if possible. Tuning really becomes advantageous when adding or changing items like long tubes or fuel changes. As for handhelds many peole like nguage but they have been discontinued. SCT BDX is also a good option. 18+ stock intake performs well and keeps iats down.

Isn't the tune adding something like 30 to 40 to the engine torque? And maybe taking care of rev hang?

Hey Stephane,

1. H pipe will have no affect on the tune. The only exhaust mods that will require a tune change are longtube headers or an offroad setup.

2. We offer the cammed tune from Lund however the only requirement from them to run one is to have an offroad setup. The cammed tune is included at no additional charge but again you must have an offroad setup to be eligible for it.

3. For devices we are now sold out of all Lund Racing ngauges so the SCT X4 or BDX are what we have available. Both are great devices which Lund tunes on.

4. No issues running the stock intake. In fact aftermarket intakes really don't show much of any gains over the stock intakes on a lightly modified bolt-on car.

Feel free to give us a shout if you have any other questions or need assistance placing the order. We'll be glad to help you out.

Thanks!

I wrote to Lund racing and the response I got was that on 93 gas, with only a tune and no mode, I should not expect more that 10 hp gain, so not worth it. It seems weird as usually when I read about tuning, even the one from ford performance, seems to be worth it.

Prior to 18+ tuning alone did gain more. Tuning 18+ for e85 will gain alot more. The Ford Performance one requires additional parts and will raise iats and barely get you more than 93 alone. I would suggest consider tuning when making a tuneable mod such as long tubes or a fuel change to e85. That's where your considerable increases will be.
