Any salesman can put in your name and if you are in the system all your info comes up. It's available to anyone with a dealerconnection account. Are you using false identities as well? :tsk:
No, but as you can see, my name here isn't my real name. :D

I prefer not to advertise, so if you're okay... I've got nothing to prove. I just don't need dealers reading here pulling data and trying to use it to sell me anything, or worse.

When I placed my last order I told the salesman exactly what I was doing and he understood. Basically my plan is that if the inventory car comes in and I don't like the options on it (it has the 50th package which I have not seen in person) I can pass and they will sell it. Then whoever gets the retail order scheduled first is where I buy. If I take the inventory car the dealers are free to cancel my orders or let them come in and sell them.

I had a suspicion that was possibly not your real name. I just don't understand why you would wait until the cars land and buy one, why involve all this time of yourself and others. It's a Mustang, not a McLaren, they'll build plenty of them.

16 GT PP cars are already coming to your fictitious area, all trims and colors. I don't see why you would string along multiple dealers, and why they would even allow that. I have a feeling anyone could walk in and buy your car(s) out from under you. This would defeat the entire purpose of playing all these cards at once. What ever floats your boat.

There's no stringing anyone along if they are informed up front, which they are.

My area is not fictitious, and just to set your mind at ease I just took this for you so you can see I have no problem buying a Mustang and I'm not trolling. I actually buy cars that exist. :)

:headbang: Holy S&*T I have 706 Posts! Learn something new everyday, Vettes have printers who knew

The fact that you are trying so hard makes me need to stop allowing you to waste my time, I'm not trying to chase a 1/3 possibility of a minimum commission from selling you something.

I would find another dealer.
This. I ordered in May with $0 down, and only a pre-qualification on the loan from my bank (not theirs). I'm also saving negotiation until we get closer to a delivery date.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to email a few other dealers. If anyone has any recommendations for dealers in the Milwaukee, WI area feel free to let me know. I will be paying with my car for cash and would be willing to show a bank statement, etc. if would help obtain a refundable deposit.

I just don't want to get locked into a specific dealer, and find out that another dealer has the same car already on the lot in stock in the next few months while I still wait for my custom order.

Why order at this point? Just use the search tools to find what you want and buy it.

I tried to give my dealership a deposit but he goes with how much you harassed me about when we were able to put your order in *I was sitting waiting for him to start work* and you knew exactly what you wanted in the car; I'm not worried that you will not take delivery on it :)

Depends on the state really. Here in California its illegal for a dealer to ask for a non-refundable deposit. The sales guy I know says its their way of getting you into the car for a test drive, more than it being a deposit to hold the car.

Same here, in addition he said, if I didn't buy it, I got it so well optioned he could sell it with no trouble at all. To which I responded, "over my dead body".

I'm also pretty active in the local area and I have no reservations advertising the new car for them. At least until they start leaving finger prints, then I'm out!!! :paddle:
