Just bought my '16 GT used. Previous owner decided on muffler deletes, stock res and cats. Sound and volume are quite nice but at highway speeds the drone is unbearable. Made it an entire week before buying a Stainless Works catback. Will being going on the second I stop working 100+ hour weeks.
People have varying sensitivities to drone, plus I have 3.55 gears which may mean that I cruise at a slightly higher RPM then you. From reading a ton of posts on exhaust setups it seems to me that most people who complained about drone on muffler deletes also had resonator deletes. All I can say definitively is that I get a ton of compliments about my exhaust, from passengers and people outside the car as well.

i ran my car with a double x pipe with no mufflers for all of about 15 minutes(on the way to get my corsas welded in) and the novelty wore off after the first 5 min. ill admit, the coyote is a mean sounding motor. the nmra coyote stock guys are pure badass, and the cars sound great [ame]
but they are RACE CARS. class race cars ON A TRACK that need every advantage they can muster. that being said there are tons of cheap diy options to make the car louder, while staying classy and refined. hell, i did a full cat back for under $450.

no mufflers on our cars drone and rasp like a dump truck (almost reminds me of the terrible LSx f bodies with straight pipes that plagued the ghettos in the mid 2000s)
i personally dont want to hear your 12 second stock street car from a mile away, but to each his own i guess

Did you run your no muffler setup with or without tips?

Big difference between muffler deletes and muffler deletes plus double x pipe. I have 3.5 tips on mine, and wonder how much of a difference that makes.

I think you misread what I was asking. I was asking if he ran the double x pipe setup without mufflers, with or without tips.

The reason I asked is I originally had an electric cutouts (essentially no muffler and no tips). After a month, I took out the electric cutout, removed the two mufflers and routed the exhaust out back into 2.5 to 4 inch tips. That made a huge difference in the quality of sound in a good way.
