So just bought an '18 GT 'vert. Looking at catbacks and I cam across something on Steeda's Canadian website. Maybe someone has an answer the Borla S-Type is offered in two versions a 3in "not recomended for convertibles" or a 2.5in "recomended for convertible models"
Does anyone know of fitment issue ,or is it just the 3in is too loud for a convertible(in someone's opinion)?

Well that’s kinda what I was thinking too , but I haven’t been able to find anything in writing lol. We all know we do lots of stuff that’s “not recommended “ lol

There is a thread here that shows the bottom of both cars. Vert has big ass brackets in back.

Bracketry under the car wont allow 3" exhaust to fit through it. That bracketry is there because the body flexes a lot more due to no solid roof.

The convertible has a brace under it that will not clear with the 3 inch exhaust, you can just remove it. It does not really change anything or you can get the smaller pipe and use it, up to you. We are a dealer for Corsa and borla so we can hook you up! We also have our own exhaust if interested, and they are in stock! We have black and polished tips as well.

As others have mentioned it is due to the bracing for the convertible's.

Borla and Corsa have convertible specific setups. Let me know what you like the sound of most and I can get you a killer deal on new.

Feel free to DM me or call with any questions!
