I put a new set of mickey thompson s/s 285/40/18 on a 10in wheel to bring to the track. My trap speed is consistently down 2mph from stock 235s. Is this normal?
Also how are you guys launching the manual ecoboost? My best 60ft is 1.9 at 22psi in tires launching around 3000rpm. I tried to let the clutch out faster and ended up with a 2.0 on the 2nd run. Should I rev it higher and ride the clutch out longer or is there some better technique? I normally just try to get it to take off smoothly, quickly not much throttle and then full throttle once its fully in gear. I can't break a 13.0 with a 1.9 though I need to get at least a 1.8 and with these wheels I was hoping I could manage a 1.6 with good technique. I left traction control on for both these runs, third run I turned it off but I was out of it and didn't really launch the car. All input welcome.
