Hi,
I'm Alex, been a car guy ever since I started driving, but always been into japanese cars. I've owned a few 240SXs, Sentra, Supra, and most recently an FR-S. I always used to say I only liked older cars, but when I met my future wife I realized I should get a car with airbags, ABS, etc. for safety. I really liked the FR-S and bought it when they first came out. However, it was just totaled in a bad wreck on the interstate. We are fine, but the car is not. So, now I am shopping around for a new car, and the number one on my list is a new Mustang. I didn't even consider them until the most recent update, with independent rear suspension. I have been dreaming about a V8 swap into my 240SX but since I am in the new car market now I figure I will just get a new car with a V8. I test drove the GT and Camaro SS, and while that LS3 had monster fun torque, the Mustang drove way better... responsive steering, great shifter, quieter ride.
So, with that said, I'm thinking the GT, manual, performance package, and since we just had a bad wreck, adaptive cruise (for the forward collision warning that probably could've prevented our wreck), and 401A for the BLIS and dual temperature control. The biggest thing I'm not sure about is color... I've always loved red cars, but the new Stang's red seems a little too orange, and I don't know about the ebony black PP wheels with it. I am surprised to say it, but I really like Guard green (my inner Steve McQueen?), or maybe just black so it's "murdered out" from the factory. Looking at pics, I see the option for "Luster Nickel" is that just plain silver? I've spent way too much time already going through all the color threads in the picture forum. The dealer here won't give me a quote until I come back in, but I've already got a few quotes from neighboring dealers and am hoping I can get it for under $40k with dealer fees. My plan is to bid them off each other. Anyone with my exact options have any info on how much they paid? No one has the exact car I've asked for but said they could order it, but I can probably get a better deal if I didn't have to...

Dude, you sound like you have already made some very positive decisions concerning a new Mustang. My only suggestion is that the Ingot Silver looks cleaner longer than other colors. If your too busy or too lazy to wash that Pony weekly that might be a consideration. If I were in your position, I would find one built and on someone's lot rather than order one. Even if you have to travel a bit for savings, you get a great return trip discovering your Coyote Mustang!

Go for 15% off of MSRP. There's some on this site that get better than that though. Black is beautiful but mine is out of the garage on sunny days only. If it was my main vehicle it wouldn't be black.

If you just go with black and don't tint anything, it won't be murdered out. The luster nickel wheels are silver whiteish and give a more elegant less aggressive appearance to the car. They still look great though. If you're not looking into premium you should easily be under 40k but I'd opt for the premium and try to make it work.

Ruby red also hides dirt pretty well, if you like red and don't like to be cleaning all the time. It also looks really classy with the silver PP wheels.

Edit: Added a picture of the Luster Nickel Wheels on my ride. When they are CLEAN, they look more white-ish. When in the average state of dirty, they look pretty much the same as ingot.

I second Lord Thunder's comment about ruby red hiding dirt pretty well.

And the color does look classy in my opinion. See the pic of mine below.

But honestly, I think all the colors are great. And b/c of that, it's kind of tough to choose one. I narrowed it down to guard and ruby red, and went with the ruby red. No regrets.

Good luck choosing your color and have fun when you get the new beast. These cars are a blast to drive.

Go with your gut on colour as somebody has previously mentioned. I went with race red because that was my first instinct. Guard is beautiful too. I didn't originally like the black wheels but now I quite like 'em.

This. Go with your gut. You can't go wrong with any of the colors really. FWIW I am very happy with Deep Impact Blue. Guard was my other choice but there weren't any around at the time.

Keep in mind that PP option limits you to having your car towed if you get a flat that cannot be temporarily fixed with the can of fix a flat. And it it does work, I'm sure the TPMS is ruined.
You can buy a spare tire over the counter, but Ford tells you that it will destroy the Torsen diff. if you drive on two different size rear tires.

welcome

honestly dont need the BLIS in this car, visibility is actually pretty good and the curved side mirrors helped a lot. My 14 IS350 had BLIS but I dont feel like im missing it in this car. I would highly recommend getting a Premium if you can, base was way too stripped out for my liking. I got mine for about 36.5k and with 39k drive out. Always wait till the end of the month or heck soon the end of the year for a deal

Hey Man,

I think we can all agree, Henry Ford said it best "Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black". Enough said. I have a 2015 GT Premium, PP, Recaros, and manual. I got this entire deal for under 40K! When I went in, I had the mind set of all the options mentioned above, minus the Recaros, since Im a big dude, I don't want to be un-comfortable driving it all the time. They are not FAT friendly, LOL. anyways, this was the only one that they had on the lot close to what I wanted, and straight out told him, if you want to sell me this, take the price of the Recaro's off, and we got a deal. So BAM! there you go. hope that helps you out to decide.

No kidding! I sat in Barton Shifters car at Mustang Week. I thought I was going to have to call the fire department to extract me!
