Nice to see critics recognising that the BMW M2 is one of the main competitors for the Mustang, even though they are slightly different cars. They are both going for the more old school type of car and similarly priced.

One of the reasons I’m looking at BMW next. Won’t be going for a M2 as I can’t afford to, but will be going for M240. Should be pretty much the same performance, with more comfort and a better interior. Yeah they don’t look as good as a Mustang but they don’t look terrible either. And the discounts available make it a lot cheaper too.

Yes, i don’t think the improvements on the M2 over the 240 are significant enough for the price difference but the M2 does look much more special, is dynamically better and will hold its value better. Would I go for an M2 over a Mustang, it’s close but a 240 just seems a bit plain for me.

M2 over 240 everytime, 240's crash in value the M2's hardly depreciate, the residuals are amazing, I looked at one when I got the Golf R, they were 38-42k, they still are now.

This ^ - on PCP, the residules are so strong that the M2 could work out cheaper than the 240i. Worth considering.
