New Owner here...survived the first 48 hours...

Howdy Gents and whomever ladies hang out in the snake pit-

I've been voraciously consuming data from all y'all as I get up to speed on the newest addition to the stable- an '18 blue over white w/ 17k miles. Been lusting hard for a few years after letting a 502 BBC go in '19 to fund a race effort...had to get a V8 back in the stable so why not go with a FPC?

A buddy told me James Dean died 9 days after getting his Spyder so I have 7 more to live through but HOLY SMOKES this car ROCKS! I have a few quick questions and some observations that I'm wondering if anybody felt similar when they buried their foot in it.

1. Where to find a good parts list that breaks down the schematics for the different parts on the car? realoem is the go-to for BMW and you can find anything but having a very hard time finding similar resource for the new snake.
2. Is there a favorite between apple car play vs ford sync3? I saw this big warning banner about data privacy w/ apple but guessing Ford just wants you to rave about their S3.
3. How in the hell do y'all stay out of prison driving this thing?

Ref #3, this one is in a whole new league for yours truly. The brakes in this thing make my 996 GT3 brakes feel like they are from a Volkswagen Bug (well...er....they did start there, but...). Seriously. How in the world did they nail this one so well? Better question is what pad to switch to that has equal bite without creating an environmental hazard from billowing brake particulates...as bad or worse than BMW OEM compound but at least Akebono makes great stuff for the Roundel.

I woke up at 0300 the morning after rolling it into the stable and, well, I'll keep it PG rated but suffice it to say I had to go for another hit off the snake bit crack pipe. Immediately. The sound, the power, the 'newness' of it all was more intoxicating than 110 octane bourbon.

The magneride eats up road trouble with ease and doesn't require a trip to the chiropractor for a reset after a road trip in a car that can outperform most anything out there in the right hands. I foresee a trip or two to big Willow where a car I co-drove would do 1:25's (3.8 911 RSR with lots of wing on Yokohama slicks) but the QOD is can this suck up turn 8 at WOT off the hill? I'll at least wait until day 10 to test that one...

Congrats on the car. Glad to see you are enjoying it. You will have even more fun on track. In terms of a parts schematic, you can simply buy a workshop manual. There are many sources online for this. When you actually need to buy a part just Google the part number and there will be a multitude of Ford dealership parts websites that pop up. I just choose the one with the lowest price and shipping at the time and buy from them. Sadly there is nothing like FCP Euro for Ford. In terms of brake pads I just stick with stock; they are great on track so I just live with the dust.

You can do turn 8 flat out. Did my '99 SVT Cobra flat out through 8 at about 130....

I guess when they nailed it when they used the GT3 as thier goal.

16. The benchmark for the GT350 was originally the Porsche 911 Carrera S, then Ford Performance upped the ante by targeting the Porsche GT3. When asked if that was an extreme goal? Hameedi said, "We always punch above our class."

3. Ford fit stiffer front wheel bearings and unique radial-mounted brake calipers that allows for a stiffer mounting than traditional cross bolts to these unique steering knuckles. The stiffer front wheel bearings are said to reduce caliper knockback, a condition where deflection in the wheel bearings allow the brake rotors to push the brake pads into the caliper pistons, and back into their bores creating a "knockback" sensation. This knockback creates an unpredictable and unstable brake pedal feel.

I own "just" a GT with PP1 but to me the reply is: drive it at odd hours when nobody, or the least amount of people, is around.

Congrats on this add to the stable, I guess my next addition will be a Shelby too.
