Nope, no firm news, other than we should expect the facelift for the '18MY. This is based on the fact the '17MY doesn't appear to be changing, other than offering new colours.

Here's a thread with some renderings as to what the '18MY might look like:
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44966

New models? It's possible we'll see a Mach 1:
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=206

And later, possibly a GT500:
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=205

Will we see a 2.7 or 3.5 Ecoboost? Anything's possible, but I suspect it may be the '20MY before we see significant new engines. The '20MY should be a much more significant update to S550.

I'd hope to at least see a bump in power/torque for the GT and Ecoboost-4 for the '18MY though.....

No new shape or V6 Ecoboost. Same basic models as current models.

Just got wind from an inside contact that :

Ecoboost - electric motors feeding front and rear (4wd) engine only powers rear

GT - V8 Turbo

V6 no longer RIP

Aluminium everywhere! Light! (Subframe suspension etc)

Interior - heads up display as standard, leather dash and doors, etc

Price won't change

Sounds impressive and that's the sort of hybrid-tech I'd welcome in the Mustang. I wouldn't expect this until the '20MY at the earliest though.

GT - V8 Turbo
I'd welcome a 4 litre twin turbo V8. Again, haven't heard a sniff of anything post Coyote, so at least '20MY before we'd see this.

V6 no longer RIP
Normally aspirated V6? Wouldn't surprise me. I'd love to see the 2.7 Ecoboost 6 make an appearance though. Again, not before '20MY though, I suspect.

The aluminium.....I'd like to see this for the '18MY refresh. I suspect we might get some for the '18MY, then lots more with the more intense refresh for '20MY. Leather dash n doors.....bring it on ASAP!

Hmm, it tends to go up a little each year, so I'd be surprised to see it stay static. As long as it stay similar, that'd be cool. Also, with the global sales Mustang now enjoys, economies of scale start to come into play nicely

If you can pin your contact down for more info (especially with regards timescales) that'd be appreciated! :)

I would assume the same! The aluminium & leather update will be 18 and no price increase but 2020 maybe the engines & drivetrain with a small price increase,

The 6 pot won't be an option I have heard

I assume 4wd & electric motors are going on the ecoboost as v8 owners don't like change as much lol

Of course I will keep you updated!

Electric motor is interesting.

As much as I think it'd be better to lose the V6, I'm not so sure they will do that as long as the Camaro is still offering it. Although I don't think there's any reason to keep the V6 while we have the I4 Turbo.

The subframe would definitely lighten our cars up if they went aluminum. A lot of the exterior of the car is already aluminum anyway.

HUD and leather dash would be awesome. I'm betting the Leather dash will become premier trim, with HUD included in 401A or PP.

I'm with Twin Turbo on this one. There's usually a price hike of at least something every year. But I'm not complaining if that's the case!

Some interesting information that you have shared there. Will be curious to see how much of it comes to fruition:ford:

I love the aluminum everywhere comment along with the leather dash and doors, etc.

Would love to see a 3500lb GT:love::love::love:

Apparently the aim is 1450kg for the GT
Interesting. How confident are you in your contact? I could see realistically getting the Eco to that weight, and maybe the GT just under 3500lbs. I will gladly take a ~3200lbs GT though! :headbang:

Very confident!

However it's only the aim!

The Eco will be heavy due to electric motors etc, probably heavier than the v8

The idea is the Eco will be very eco friendly with good performance & the V8 Turbo will go balls deep lol
