I can't make up my mind though lol

I can either get a GT350R for $86,800 out the door or a regular GT350 for $68,800 out the door. Difference of an even $18k, both are Oxford with Blue OTTS and brand new.

Is the R really worth the difference? What do you guys think?

Ok. What were the selling prices before taxes and fees?

The R is $78,395 ($10k ADM) and the regular is $61,895 ($1k ADM).

I've been calling around and shopping for a month, these are the best deals I could find on an Oxford/Blue in Florida.

I would go with the R if you do not need a back seat.

If you do, I would then buy the back seat and still go with the R. I've had both and I like it for 18k more.

I've looked in the surrounding states, that's about as low as it gets. I'm set on the color combo too, I just wouldn't be happy with any other color, except maybe Race Red and those seem just non-existent.

I've used that website provided by a member here to search (great tool by the way), if I go too far out I'd have to buy a plane ticket to inspect, pay for shipping and lose out on the trade-in tax credit so it negates any big deals.

If you can afford the R, buy it because you will never be sorry you did. But if you buy the non-R, you might be sorry you didn't buy the R.

I am of the belief that the R is worth the mark up. The car has more personality than any other car I've ever had (mostly BMW's).

One thing I've found is that dealers are pretty firm on their ADM. You'd think they would jack it up about $5k... say they asked for $20k ADM but would settle for $15k making you think you got a deal or something, etc.. I've come to realize that when they ask for $15k, they really mean $15k.

I'm pretty sure you can find something for cheaper than those prices... Check this link

That's the site I've been using to find them. I've been lurking here for a few months and gathered a lot of info, it all comes down to tomorrow. :)

I'm ready to stop thinking about this and go on with my life lol

Stangboy555, don't pay over MSRP on a standard GT350, these cars can be found for less then MSRP if you just do your homework. You will also have to be open to having the car shipped to you because the best deals are not in big cities and usually not in heavily populated states.

I live in Phoenix, AZ and when I was looking for my car (January of this year) no dealer here in Phoenix was willing to sell a GT350 for less the $10K over MSRP. So I decided to start looking out of state.

Back in January I found a number of dealers willing to sell them for MSRP and even a couple who were willing to go below MSRP. None of these dealers were in urban areas. The best deal I came across was a 2017 Race Red car with black stripes, no electronics package. The dealer was willing to sell it for $54,900 (MSRP was $57,900) because they were redoing their showroom and they wanted to get rid of the car instead of storing it. I did not buy it because I wanted a car with the electronics package.

I wound up buying my 2017 Race Red with black stripes and electronics package in January for $1K under MSRP from a small dealer in Dodge City, KS. They were absolutely great to work with. I had the car shipped back in an enclosed trailer and it cost me $900. So I essentially I got the car with the color and options I wanted for slightly under MSRP (if you add back in the shipping).

The best way to find these cars is to use the CarGuru.com website and look for smaller dealers in rural areas, they are more willing to cut a deal. This is how I found mine.

Here are couple examples of a white one with blue stripes and a red one with white stripes both under MSRP right on the website. I bet you could probably even negotiate a little more off the price (maybe another $500 to $1K).

One thought would be for you to get a deal worked up with one of these rural dealers and then go back to the dealer who is offering $1K above and see if they will match the rural dealers price. You never know they might go for it or at least drop the price to MSRP or slightly below.

Best of luck in your search and don't be afraid to go halfway across the country to find your car!

I couldn't find an R car that didn't have a ridiculous marketup and thus I settled (albeit not unhappily) for a "normal" 350. I'm definitely happy with the car but in hindsight, if I were to do it again would have paid some adm had it been a choice. I find myself loving my car but reading about the R daily and wishing I had looked harder. 18k is worth it in my mind, especially if you consider that if you get a gt350 later decide you must have an R the difference will be more.

I went with the R this time around after going with the standard GT3- I always longed for the GT3RS but it kept rising in value. GT350R came available and it was the right deal for me. I also have the back seat in the trailer and just picked up some new street tires and N4S wheels. As they say yolo and you could always flip and not lose too much in the process.
