@ Diode Dynamics:

Is this seriously your interpretation of a plug and play solution... cable taps!?!?

Jeez.

I don't think plug and play is easy to achieve as the EU taillight connectors are different from the US ones and apparently they are not available as separate parts. Caniggia needs them for his US to EU conversions as well and said he could't get the EU connectors anywhere.

Maybe it's different with the licence plate light connectors.

I dont disagree with the connection method, if thats the only solution.

However (correct me if im wrong, and ill apologise) but havent these been advertised as 'plug and play' by DD...... if so, thats getting very 'artistic' with definitions....

Can't find any instruction on how to remove the number plate bulbs. I know it must be a simple job, but I don't want to force the wrong side and break anything. It's not even mentioned in the user manual.

Anybody done it or have a link?

Just got back from fitting them. I've posted some info below if any use to anyone else.

The units are great but the wiring solution is disappointing. I found the wire taps fairly temperamental.

The number plate unit comes out really easy, can use either clip in picture. They are actually LED units, which I assume is why there's no instructions for removal anywhere.

Just need to tidy up the wires. Got a load of 3M stick on ties, but they are all too small. Grrrr! Might have to be a tape job for now.

Black sidemarkers on black cars are very cool even during the day. The led 'line' is so good!

So I did mine too today, did not have the same working space as Monty but went well too :D

The light housing from the licence plate came very easily out. I went slowly and checked everything as I was doing it so it took me 1,5 hours probably.

Here is the light housing:

The wiring harness passed through the licence plate light housing area and all the way to the sidemarker's location:

You can tuck the cable behind the black plastic parts and also behind the body of the car (the blue part)

I have put some electrical harnesses when coming towards the sidemarkers so the cable would not dangle arround. And here is the resut:
