So black Friday is around the corner and I’m looking for a new clutch. My car is NA with the basic bolt on headers, intake manifold, CAI, and soon to be E85. I do like to take the car to the drag strip every once in a while. I was looking at the Mcleod clutches RST or RXT but I feel like it’s over kill for the set-up I have. Also I hear the chatter are extremely loud at ideal on twin disk clutch. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Anything Exedy I have had great luck with. Ran the Mach 500 on 2 manual shift cars with great success. Their lightweight steal flywheel is awesome as well. Are you having issues at higher RPM when shifting? If not I would first invest in an MGW shifter if I were you. I loved mine. Best second upgrade I ever made. Doing it again it would have been my first, but I wanted some tone so the first was Mganflow catback exhaust. The FI setup and the clutch and other goodies came later.

Exedy Stage 1, contact Bill Garrett directly at Exedy. Also known as the Mach 500 Stage 3 at American Muscle
I was thinking of that same clutch paired with a lightened steel flywheel.
Exedy flywheel is 17lbs
McLeod is 19lbs
I think factory is 22

My question is can yo use the exdey clutch with the mcleod flywheel.
I also heard that some lighter flywheels throw a code is that true?

this is all going on my "17 GT Roush charged phase 1 670hp 545 tq

Not sure if you can use the EXEDY clutch with the McLeod flywheel but ask Bill he will be straight with you.....As far as the codes, only one I’m aware of may be the crank relearn but it’s a luck of the draw and most likely not

Also, I do have the EXEDY flywheel for what it’s worth

Thanks!

So you have the pair. I'm guessing it works well. Did yours throw a code?
How much whp do you think your running?
I'm at 580 wheel, this is the way I want to go...

Extremely pleased, pedal is on the heavier side but it doesn’t bother me, you get used to it. I’m not close to you on HP, yet. . You can do their stage 1 which is the exact same as the Mach 500 Stage 3 the vendors sell or step up one. You won’t/shouldn’t be disappointed.
