Hello all! So I just recently picked up a 16 GT with 18K miles and a 6 speed manual for $23K last week and I am loving it! I am a BMW guy but have a respect for a performer regardless of brand. My second daily is a $500 XJ Cherokee that has had the brakes go out on 3 separate occasions, so it really makes the drive fun! And I also have a 95 BMW 525i that I am doing a Twin Turbo LS swap with a 6-Speed.
Before this, my DD was a 2013 BMW 335i sedan with the ZF8 speed transmission that was an amazing car except for one issue, it was an auto and did not feel right. It was a tad bit slower than the Mustang it felt and could get 30mpg easily and can go through any corner with out a complaint with the traction control off.
But it is not as engaging as I wanted and it had 107K miles on it and still owed like $13K on it. I wanted to get back into a manual car like I have always had in the past. It made more sense to pay on a lower mileage vehicle that I would enjoy with less miles on it and this was the most sensible way to do it! So BMW traded in and paid for and now moved onto this pony. The best part is insurance is cheaper on the Mustang which being only 23 is a huge shocker.
Overall it is a fantastic car and great fit for me. Amazing power delivery, huge cornering potential, stunning looks! There are some things I would want to change however. I have the base Pirelli 235 All Season tires which in my opinion are horribly speced for this vehicle and I do plan on getting 19" wheels that allow for a 275+ rear tire with probably Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions. I can feel when cornering that these tires are very limited in a performance context. And I do not care for the stereo system (base model GT), it feels very unintuitive and I plan on getting either the factory or aftermarket touch screen with navigation. But these are small easily changeable things so it is no big deal.
Anyways I look forward to learning a lot on here to keep the Mustang going!
I do not have too many good pictures yet, but they get the point across.
