Robert thanks so much for taking a look at that. It's very much appreciated and now I feel I can just quit worrying.

Ha doh I was thinking front wheel well for some reason, just looked at mine and I have the exact same pin in mine. Looks like the pins that hold the trunk liner in my Fusion, they just screw off to remove. Should be a threaded bolt that it attachs to, used where a push pin can't be.

Rear wheel well towards the front of the car is where you looked? I'm wondering if maybe it could be related to build date? Like how the newer 2017's don't have the extra vacuum line on the intake. Mine was built sometime mid June.

by the way, I just checked out another 2017 and it has the same plastic pin holding in the rear wheel liner. Looks like that was not a mistake after all.
I've got a late build 2016 (built May 18th 2016, last of the 2016's where built on June 1st)...I've got the exact same plastic pin on each rear wheel liner.

Those are 100% normal, I had them on my 2015 and they are present on my 2017. There are threaded rods coming into the wheel well and the plastic caps thread on to them, holding the liner in place. They can not be switched to push pin unless you wanna cut them off, drill them out and use a push pin, they have been on the car since the release.

Thanks again for all the answers! I've decided the push pins just don't bother me right now, running my winter setup so I don't need to worry about them. They are sitting very tight and no other pushpins are sticking out like the ones in question.

As far as the advancetrac was concerned, it seems that it can only be deactivated in track mode, I feel like my 2016 was able to disable in any mode, though I rarely turned that off.

Aside from that, I'm really happy with the new car, fitment all around is spot on. Being able to use Android Auto is fantastic. I feel like there are other changes as well, but for the better.

Heated and cooled seats remember the last setting now from shutting the car off. My 2016 I always had to turn them back on. This is a great feature for now with it being always cold. Could get annoying on those Saint Louis days where it's 30 in the morning and 80 by the afternoon. Still great though.
Really? I have a 2016 and mine remembers the last setting I used as well. Took some getting used too. Neither my wifes 2011 explorer nor my old 2011 GT did that. So I was little surprised the first time I got back in the car on a warmer afternoon when I'd been using the heated seats on a chilly morning and my butt started roasting.
