Look for big volume dealers, they're gonna give you the best deal. If it's not practical to buy from them based on location then at the very least use this as ammunition to barter with your local dealer.

Mine was for sale at a dealer 4 hours away in Baltimore. They had it listed at 38,7xx + destination, tax, title (and no silly rebates factored in that everyone didn't qualify for). MSRP was 45,5xx. I didn't even bother trying to negotiate it. Bought the greyhound ticket and went.

^^That is a fact in most cases^^

Big volume dealers get a lot of holdbacks and allocations. They also love to stick it to their competition and have the sales volume to do it. My best deals were made by doing several things...do my homework, make sure I know more about the vehicle than the salesman, act like I can wait, make the dealer know they don't have what I really prefer in stock, and always let them know the other dealer wants to stick it to them.

I wish I could say I lived in Beaver!

Are you able to factory order a car from Costco Auto Program? Or can you only buy local dealer inventory?
The CAP dealer was willing to order the car for that price.

CAP aqctive for 2016 orders?

From the previous post, it looks like it is, or instead the dealer gave you the 2015 CAP discount amount against your newly ordered 2016. Is that correct?

I am looking for a GT Premium 5.0 MT with: PP, Premium Trim, 401A, Adaptive, Reverse Assist.

Invoice will be up near 41K. What is the estimate the CAP cost would be? Is it typically X dollars less than invoice? Not sure if I saw that information in the discussion here.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, I am really happy that I helped a lot of you. I guess it's good karma that comes around because I just ironically landed a job as a car salesman (not Ford =)). The Mustang building date is creeping up close and this is a good time to re bump the thread for new Mustang buyers I suppose. Feel free to shoot me a personal message and I will be happy to help now that I am more educated since working for a dealership.
