Hi guys and gals,

Anyone know how to remove a 'tether clip?' I'm trying to pull the C pillar trim and there's a tether clip. Can't for the life of me figure out how to un-clip it and Google searches turned up nothing.

The end of the tether strap, for lack of a better description, is shaped somewhat like an anchor and there is a small slot that end has to be maneuvered through on the trim. Twist the tether strap so the shape on the end matches the shape on the trim piece so the strap can be pulled out.

Hope that makes some sense...

Makes perfect sense. Thanks a lot for that. I owe you

Is there some trick to releasing the clip or do you just pull it hard (once you've twisted and then pulled the anchor-like strap out) like most of the other body panels?

I didn't remove the tether and it's clip from the interior structure so I'm not sure. I had my trim off fixing a rattle. Placed some velcro material (soft side) between the clip and it's mounting surface to snug it up. Pretty sure that tether is there to keep the trim piece from flying across the car or striking a rear passenger if that rear air bag has to deploy.
