Need help identifying options on 2017 GT premium

Hi sorry for this basic question. I am shopping for a slightly used GT ('16 or '17 most likely), and came across a '17 GT premium at a non-ford dealer lot. They claim to have no idea what options come with the car. I tried to look up the window sticker online using the VIN but no luck. So I am hoping for some tips to determine what comes with the car just from a visual inspection.

If it is premium trim (for a '17), does that mean it automatically comes with apple carplay? Or do I need the 401 option, and how do I tell if the car comes with the 401 option? This car has the larger screen, with the toggle switches next to the start button... is that the 401 package?

Also, in the center of the dash above the entertainment unit, rather than 3 AC vents it has two and two instrument dials - does that mean it has the performance package? There are brembo calipers on the front wheels too which makes me think it is performance package. I assume it does NOT have the black appearance package because the logos are not blacked out (its a black car so if it was a black painted roof I wouldn't know lol), and the wheels appear after market anyway.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If it has the gages in the middle above the radio, it is a performance package. This would mean you have the Brembo front brakes which would be labelled as such. The suspension is better than a regular Mustang.

The toggle switches would mean it's a premium, along with the leather seats, larger touchscreen radio and the unpainted black rear diffuser.

Black appearance package would have given you the black badges, they are simple to replace if you chose.

I can't answer you about the apple carplay.

If you give the vin to a Ford dealer, they can print you off the window sticker.

Agree with the previous poster, you are looking at a Performance and Premium Package. A couple other things to look at are the side mirrors, and audio system/w subwoofer in trunk.
If it has the one piece mirror (BLIS), Shaker audio, memory seats, its the 401A option. The '17's in that configuration have Apple Carplay..at least mine does.

acording to the dealer it does have BLIS on the side mirror, but no memory seats...? I believe it does have shaker audio, at least that's what the dealer says. It has nav I now see, so don't you need the 401A package in order to have nav?

All the 17 with premium have Sync 3 and carplay. It sucks, I don't use it. Its just a way to get nagged constantly about being in motion and have your phone be essentially useless as far as I can tell.

To add:

It sounds like you looked at a GT Premium w/ Performance Package. There are additional add-on's that you could have as well. All 2017's and 16's have Sync 3 as standard.....which includes Apple Car Play or Android Auto with a free update. (usb stick. You can download online and update yourself if it wasn't already done)


If it has recaro seats, that was an extra option.

Also, if you have a weird keyed lugnut on each wheel, you have the theft and security package added.

If you have a few random circles at the base part of your rear bumper (same colour as the rear bumper), that indicates reverse park assist sensors.

Here's my window sticker for an idea: (2016 and 17 are very similar if not identical, I believe). Mine was a fully optioned 16' I believe.

401A - 12 speaker system with Sub.
Security Package - Wheel Lock, extra security stuff (anti-theft)
Perf. Pack - 19" PP Wheels, Brembo's, Spoiler Delete, 3.73's, Spoiler delete
Reverse Park Assist - Those 4 round sensors in the rear bumper
Navigation - Bigger touchscreen is included.

Easy enough to check for memory seats. There's a small cluster on drivers door w/ lock/unlock symbol and 1,2,3 numbers.
