Hello everyone I need some help. I was in an accident where the lady hit me on the driver side. My car has finally been fixed after being at the dealership the past few weeks. Does anyone know a good Diminshed Value company I can use? I currently live in Tampa, FL. Thank you

They may just do commercial accounts, but may be able to help. Usually, you can just push the diminished value issue with the insurance company yourself and depending on your state, they will usually settle without an attorney. There is no doubt that a vehicle with previous paint and body work will take a hit at resale time. In my business, frame damage usually cost us 15% off a non framer vehicle value. Paint work can be 5-8%, depending if there is a negative carfax report also.

How does diminished value work??

Does Ins. Co. cut a check for that in addition to the payout for repair, or do they add disminished value to repair work or???

The insurance covers the cost of the repair, then in a second discussion (usually with a different department within the insurance company) a negotiation takes place to determine what amount of value was lost due to the accident.

When you and the insurance company decide on a value a check is sent to you for that amount.
