NC aftermarket light laws?

Question for anyone that is familiar with the aftermarket laws for NC:

I want to put some LEDs in the grille of my car. I know I can't use red or blue, but I can't find any info on whether or not I could have the lights on while driving or can only turn them on if I'm parked or in a parking lot. Not looking to blind people with extra lights..just wanna have some fun with accent lighting .

If anyone knows, or can point me in a direction for more info Id really appreciate it!!!

I think it varies by municipality, but the rule of thumb is: not while driving, only for show.

For some reason truck lighting seems to get away with this. Ultimately it comes down to the officer. As all things do.

you are permitted to have exterior lights in these colors: red, yellow, amber, and white. location does not matter.
