I just talked to him on the phone. I believe it was the dealership who got in trouble, and then as punishment they took away the LE from him. It doesnt stop him from buying the car. It just cancelled his LE order. Speaking with him now, we live in the same city.

If it was the dealer who cancelled his order and not Ford, they should be called out... especially for cancelling an LE. Poor guy...

Did he make an arrangement that required him to stay off this site?

kinda, but not technically. He told me some stuff that I am not going to post. But him staying off the forum, at least until the cars gets here is going to be the best.

That clarifies things a bit. But an unfortunate turn of events nonetheless.

He states that he is just going to let it blow over and he does not want to get involved anymore. Which is really unfortunate. The dealer that he ordered from here in town was kinda not doing the best. When they told him that he could have an LE, he quickly started talking them up to potential customers and telling them how great they are. Literally did everything he could to boost their sales. I am just glad that I placed my order at another dealer in the city.

Any reason not to post the name of the dealership here or is that considered "sensitive" information as well?

I would rather not. There are about 3 or 4 other members on this forum who ordered theirs from the same dealership.

OK fellas

Here is my last post. I got into hot water for posting the retailers sales guide. Ford Corporate called the dealer I "had" my LE on order with,
And now my order is cancelled. So ya all be careful what you post so you don’t get into any legal troubles. I won’t be among you guys with new
550s. I will have a lot of nice anniversary stuff on ebay later if you want any. Take care.

Dave
Yah well. You did seem a little weird with the whole baby post from yesterday ;-)

So did the dealer tell him NOT to post any of that online? If not, then they are essentially penalizing this customer for their error. AND wasn't he one of them that got his LE at or below invoice??

I'm sure that doesn't have anything to do with it at all right? Them realizing they can get another $5-10k out of the car?

I should start calling random dealers in Little Rock if I have to and ask if they have a newly available LE to sell and see what they say.....

What shall I name her for the plate? Luck (be a lady), serial number, Desire, Dancer, or let her speak to me when I back her off the carrier.

Will he able to get the car (LE) from somewhere else? Or is he just dropping the idea completely? I can understand if he does not want it now.

I feel really bad for him. This sucks big time. :tsk:

Well if it was the dealership and not Ford, I suggest he call ford with his information that he had from his order and explain what happened... They may reissue his order through another dealer in the same area if needed. But the dealer should not be able to just cancel his order for their mistake, and i doubt Ford would let that slide if he called and made a case to someone in authority. (of course i wouldnt expect that to be easy either)

I believe that he said he got if for $2k over invoice. He was pretty happy about that considering the last one he was going to go with was going to charge $7k over. I was with him when we went to look at the yellow eco boost. I never once heard them tell him not to post it.

From what I understood, he had some trouble with this dealer giving him the LE, so he went to my dealer, they already sold their last one. So he was going to go to Memphis to get one. to make a long story short, the first dealers order fell through and called him back to see if they could still have his business. It was never nice and happy go lucky from the get go.

Really they did this guy a favor. He sounds like some kind of sentimental emotional basketcase being taken for attrocious prices for what is basically an appearance package. You're 60 grand better off
