Something just doesn't "smell" right about this situation. There have been order guides, spec sheets, owner's manuals and even today the Ford magazine promotional material posted on these forums. All this material is copyrighted or could be considered "sensitive" material. Why wasn't anything done in those instances? Why is this particular sales guide a special case?

He has no liability unless he worked for Ford in some way the dealer should have never given him that information as it was properitary. They may have threatened to cancel his order if he did not leave the site I could see that.
Possible. Regardless of liability, if Ford sued, even if they had no case, they could make it a very long and costly legal battle. Not sure if Ford would do that but I know Fender Musical Instruments has done that in the past. They find a small town guy who builds a few guitars a year and go after him. Even if the guy is perfectly within the law, the legal battle alone would bankrupt him. It's how fender makes a statement to discourage people from doing things they don't like. To proactively protect their best interests. And it works. No one can afford to call their bluff when you are up against an international corporation with an annual revenue larger than some countries.

I feel pretty confident Ford did not like this info leaked as it contained info about the vehicles Ford is comparing the new '15 too. I will not say any more or speculate further this just sucks all around.

My guess would be because it was given to him at an authorized Ford dealer. I have not been to one of these training sessions but I have seen others post about specific stipulations during these sessions. Such as no photographs, don't turn the car on, etc. Maybe there was a written or verbal agreement about privacy required to attend the session and he didn't know. Just saying, he stated he would not be getting his LE and he still walked away. There is something bigger going on. Like I said, I don't know anything about how Ford handles things like this I am just making a comparison to Fender musical instruments because I know someone they went after. And to be honest, it's hard for me to fault them for protecting their best interests. Companies go out of business every single day because it is not easy to remain successful. Just imagine if we all had people following is around leaking little facts about us that we would rather keep to ourselves. Not saying the OP was wrong either, just making an observation.

Probably because all the others were just informational and this one if I remember from the brief look I had before it was removed, was teaching dealers how to sell the car....it had a few pages about competitive talking points on how it compares to other cars, which features to emphasize etc. guess they dont want sales/marketing tactics getting out.

Either way I agree the situation is ridiculous. A multibillion dollar company doesnt have better things to do with their time, money, resources than picking on Joe Schmoe who is just enthusiastic about THEIR car? I can understand an actual leak but that training guide was totally harmless.

Completely agree. Those who meted out the punishment in this situation obviously didn't review his other posts on this forum. His information about the manufacturing and scheduling processes at Ford calmed many of those nervous about their orders. And I never saw him post any slights against Ford or this car.

My reaction to this is still   :headbonk:

An unfortunate situation all around. :(

What we can take out of this is that someone or some people within Ford keep a fairly close eye on this site. (As I have suspected after Ford announced HP numbers fairly quickly after the long meme thread good-natured ribbing of Ford being so slow to release numbers)

In the long run I think this is good for us. Easy way for us to communicate with Ford in a back-channel sort of way. I think it is obvious as well that Ford is overly sensitive with this Mustang release as well. I've watched releases of other vehicles and not seen this level of anxiety I would call it on the part of a manufacturer. I'm hoping it pays off. :)

I vote for there to be a second ban and cancellation of a car today.

I second that. I can't imagine how the OP must feel. His passion for this car was not just obvious, it was contagious. I feel horrible for him especially when he said he would be putting his 50th anniversary gear up on eBay. And then someone coming along to kick him while he is down and isn't even here to defend himself. That's pretty cold.
