Alright guys, it's about time to start my build thread. It's going to be a long process, so stay with me. A little bit about myself: I've been in drag racing my whole life, and have never done road courses.... Until this past weekend and I'm hooked! My plan is to build a track monster/daily driver. With the he help of David@Steeda we will make this happen! Please follow along and pass on any suggestions as you see fit! I'm always open to advise and constructive criticism
I have a 2015 GT Premium non-PP. I felt like it was a good platform to build off of since I will be replacing a lot of the parts anyway. I am kicking myself for not getting it though due to the brakes worth almost the price of the package alone. I guess hind site is 20/20 huh.
My first step in the process was to black out everything. I tinted all the lights, blacked out all the emblems, and plastidipped the stock 18" rims. So far I'm loving the way it looks! As far as visual mods I don't plan on too much. Front splitter, rear Steeda wing, and better tires/rims should cover what I need.
As far as the east of this beast... It's fair game. So far I've done the JLT CAI and BAMA tune, which I will be replacing witht the Steeda intake and tune soon, I have the MBRP Race exhaust in black, and the Steeda IRS Subframe Support Braces that I installed yesterday. As far as the braces go, wow! The difference these braces make is night and day! If you don't have them you should definitely get them! Going through the corners feels much more solid and connected to the road. It feels like the power is planted to the ground since the wheel hop is pretty much gone. Install was easy with the supplied install instructions and only took 45 minutes or so.
Thanks to USPS I'm still waiting on my second order from Steeda which includes: Ultrlight Linear springs, Extreme G-Trac Brace, IRS Subframe alignment kit, and the IRS Bushing support system. Can't wait to finally get them in and tackle the install. I have a feeling she's going to feel like a new car once everything is on! I'm stoked!
Also when I'm done with the installs I will post pictures and my thoughts on the process. I'm going to be giving my thoughts on the part as well as their performance both on and off the track. I've already done a base time at the NĂĽrburgring and am going to be updating on any changes in track performance post-install.
