What a graphic, make me wonder what did Ford make? I guess I have to amit that the outsouseing manufacturing model has given us a terrific Mustang. I sure hope Ford works to bring that 55% number up over time.

Thank you,

DeColores
This graph is why the auto bailouts had to happen. Losing GM would have shuttered all those companies and possibly taken down Ford with them.

Let's not talk about bailouts. All tax payer money for entities to continue banking millions. I'd like a bailout to start my own company and make millions as well.

Interesting I thought the bailouts stuck it to suppliers in a big way. Everything has gotten to convoluted with government and business.

Thanks everyone,

Agree with Ruby305gt

Bailouts are a sour subject for me, something I rarely discuss to avoid issues and arguments. Even with family, friends, acquaintances, I would rather keep that under the politics umbrella.

No it wouldn't have. Those companies would have survived.

Because of the bailout, the UAW was in front of the line while many creditors got shoved to the back of the line. Resulting in many bankrupt suppliers.

So is the iPhone you typed ^^^ on

Seems they are better at assembling technology than mechanical hardware. The point is quality products are not a thing China is known for and there is no denying it. "Even a broken clock is right twice a day", but the majority of the time products from their manufacturing have negative stigma. From knockoffs, hazardous materials, poor build quality, in things as small as children's toys to poisoning us with Chinese drywall building materials. I can go on for days on this, and although they may not be the ONLY entity which may produce poor QC and carry this bad representation, it is certainly one of the worst, if not the worst.

Thanks for stating the obvious :)
