One thing I noticed that nobody mentioned, is that tire width doesn't really matter, at least visually. The tires are so tucked into the new body that you can't even see the width unless you are on your knees. I don't care as much now that the stock tires are 235s.

Other impressions - the Ecoboost is fast - as fast as my 06 GT was. And even the non-PP can handle well. The car is just so solid. The Ecoboost is quiet, even for a 4 cylinder turbo. It feels very refined and the low end torque is right THERE. My second time around the loop, I changed the steering to Sport and the TC to Sport+. It let me bring the tail around a good bit and was minimally intrusive. The ford rep also mentioned that he averaged 33.5 MPG from Detroit to Chicago, so the MPG numbers are understated.

The PP GT that the pro was driving - holy crap was it fast and cornered insanely. Either it is because I haven't been in a high-po car for a while, but I was really astonished with how freaking fast this thing is in a straight line AND around the corners. I was seriously impressed!

I don't know when they start, but today they went until 5PM. I arrived at about 10:45AM to an empty waiting line, but ready Ford staff.

The GT sounds good in the video. Also like seeing that the test drivers are having some fun with these.

How long were the test drives, one lap, one time?

The test drives were maybe 30 seconds at most. You should be able to tell in this general autocross video I just uploaded:

There weren't many people there so you could pretty much go as much as you wanted. I got a ride in the GT twice and drove the Ecoboost twice. The videos and pics are from my Galaxy S4 so sorry if not the best. However I think it was pretty accurate with the sound of the GT. I do think you need an exhaust though on the V8 because you don't hear much unless the throttle is being mashed. The Ecoboost is probably better with its silent exhaust unless you like that tuner 4 cylinder sound.

So, please clarify for us. You/participants get to drive the Ecoboost, but you don't get to drive the 5.0?

The 5.0 is passenger rides only? Were any of the Ecoboosts manual trans. or were they all automatic?

Correct on the 5.0s - ride along only. That thing is too fast for the general population so I don't blame em. All the drive-able Ecoboosts were automatic, but the cars sitting around were almost all manuals :(

Perhaps someone with a better understanding of where Miami is located within the State of Florida should have Posted the Tour Dates. Estero, FL sandwiched between Naples and Bonita Springs, FL is in Southwest FL on the other side of the State. Miami is located in Southeast Floriduh.
And I have no idea how 1) Lakeland became part of Orlando (60 miles away) or 2) how on earth we scored two days of the event. But since that mall is less than three miles from my house, I'm not complaining. ;)

Looks like TX is getting lots of love!

So you just show up then? No signup before hand? Any idea what time the events typically start? :help:

I am worried that the ones in Houston are going to be much busier...
