To be fair there are several pugs on sale with rear lights arranged in 3 vertical bars.

It looks like a Lancia fulvia! That can only be a good thing.
If that gets made, even I would be tempted.
However, the French are not renowned for making quality cars. Complexity is normally the downfall of French cars as they tend to be cheaply made (for the last 40) yrs. the last complex well made French car was the Citroen SM. On the other hand the French have made some of the best simple cars in the world. Think Renault 4 / 5 and 2CV.
Electrification removes mechanical complexity which will certainly benefit Peugeot. As long as all the high tech gets bought in then it could just work.

Its an homage to the Pininfarina designed 504 coupe. I think both the original and this concept looks great!

The concept also goes to show (yet again!) that here in Europe we CAN have triple red tails, but Ford forces the clear tails on us!
