Are eco friendly people really buying RWD sporty coupes? It seems like the EB should be catering to people who want to save weight.

Wouldn't the 2.3 motor in and of itself be lighter than either the 3.7 or the 5.0? Not to mention only weight savings, but it'd also help with weight distribution. And on top of that, are the figures for the 2.3 to be "better than" 30MPG?

My beef with the whole eco Boost program is that the 4's deliver V6 power with V6 gas mileage. I am not sure what is going to be gained with the 2.3 eco and more importantly at what cost.
Don't forget that despite real world MPG will be similiar when comparing a V6 to an Ecoboost, the sheet will show better MPG and that's all that's needed for the ever stricter government CAFE standards.

EcoBoost?

I'm hoping the EcoBoost brand really becomes the logo for efficient, light weight, power house engines, and adds to the legacy of "Powered by Ford". Well, I can dream can't I? It could be worse, they could call it the Titanium!
