Bad news Boys!! CEL can back I cleared it... don't care anymore will wait until Ford gets something to fix it when it comes back again. Waste of my time. I wonder if a tune would fix it... thinking of getting the LMS tune :)

I wouldn't recommend doing any modifications to the car, especially a tune. You could void the warranty. Then Ford won't be responsible for fixing your car.

I would strongly advise against it and advise you to continue to take your car into the dealer and report that the CEL has come back. Even if they can't repair it they will document the CEL again and it gives them another opportunity to repair it.

Kinda hard when my job requires me to travel to different clients on a daily basis early in the mornings. Dropping the car off and grabbing a rental etc is VERY detrimental to my schedules. If it comes back I'll bring it in on the weekends. If not I'll just wait until there is a solid fix before i bring it in again.

Such a colossal waste of my already limited time.

Let me know if any other communications have come out between Ford and the dealerships.

If I need to quote this with a dealership how do I refer to the image attached?

Just got my Stang back from my dealer. Some background:
Early last week my cel went on and it was determined to be a faulty coolant temp sensor. Replaced sensor. No cel

A few days later, this past Friday, I started the car and the cel came on again. Took it straight to dealer and they got the PO300 code for Random Misfire. They kept the car over the weekend. Called me Saturday to say they could intermittently recreate the cel when they let the clutch out right after starting the car. The rpms drop slightly when the clutch is let out and they think a faulty code is being generated in response to the rpm drop.

When I picked it up today my service guy gave me the attached "Broadcast Message" from Ford which he said was sent to dealers only this morning. The problem is related to 2.3L manual transmissions only. His opinion is that it's a software issue but there's no way to be sure at this point. Sucks sometimes to drive a computer. He said the cel may or may not come back on. I expect it will. He said drive it and don't worry about it unless it starts to run rough or the cel starts blinking. He will monitor OASIS and I should contact him if I don't hear from him within a month.

It's been running fine since I took delivery. Not sure what this means for those whose car is running rough.

It's annoying but I'm trying the patient approach. My dealer has been great throughout and I'm just gonna let Ford figure it out.

The image is a photo of the "Broadcast Message" my dealer gave me a copy of. Dealerships get them regularly and they have info directly from Ford about when they will receive things on back order, problems with vehicles, etc. That one included the info about the PO300 code occurring with the manual Ecoboosts and that Ford was aware of it and working on a fix. The dealership you speak with should have received it also. Let me know if you need any other info.

Let me add that if the car is running fine I would just drive it until the dealer let's you know what Ford has come up with. Keep in touch with them, but taking it back every time the cel comes on is only gonna drive you and them nuts. You want the dealer on your side in this. Mine went off on its own and has been off for 6 days/600 miles and I didn't do anything to it. Been running 93 since I got it. Maybe yours just needs to reset on its own without constant troubleshooting.

Strange thing is I called my dealership and referenced the 6179 number. They had no idea WTF I was talking about and could not find it. It's not a TSB right?

Not sure what a TSB is. I guess it's sort of a newsletter from Ford to all the dealerships about any issues with vehicles. I'd assume it's done the same in the US and Canada, but who knows. Did you mention that it's part of a Broadcast Message?

Checked what a TSB is and it sounds like that. Broadcast Message is what they called it.

Yup, stated it was a broadcast message 6179. TSB = Technical Service Bulletin if I'm not mistaken.

That's odd. Could it be that it's not officially an issue with Ford in Canada? I'd make them aware that Ford US has it on the record as something that Ford Engineering is working on. I'd also email them that image or take a print-out to them.

I feel your pain. They've had mine (over driveline issues) since Monday. Every time it goes, they kept it for at least a week or better. I'm getting fed up with it myself.
