You have to ask yourself why manufacturers do this with tyres?

The GT86 comes stock with Prius tyres for gods sake!! The marketing people say it makes for a more "involved" drive. Great, in the wet the handling is total crap!!

I have Conti SC5 on my road '86 and they transform the car into a planted, predictable RWD sports coupe. I wonder if they could do the same for the Mustang??

Yes Conti SC5 are superb, though MPSS is better, that is why Conti released SC6 which better the MPSS especially in the wet though MPSS are still un-defeated on longevity. So now Michelin released PS4 and PS4 S which both are as good as SC6 if not better with longevity of MPSS.

But nearly any tyre will out perform the Pzero in wet on Mustang apart from the usual ling longs, nang kangs, sunnys etc. Or if you want unbelievable grip in the wet give Rainsport 3 a try, they are insanely good!
