I did the same thing with my car.... no mufflers and resonator.... I did not think it sounded all that great. Well, to put bluntly, I did not care for it after maybe a week.

To me my car sounded better over computer speakers than in person. And it always sounds like crap next to a V8.

I ended up going with magnaflow mufflers. Now the car sounds pretty good.... for a 4. lol

But hey, I'm the person who wishes he had kept the stock mufflers and went more with the "turbo sound" vs. trying to make the car sound like something else.
Which MagnaFlow muffler did you go with.?

Love the sound, but how loud is it under 3k or so? I don't want to wake my neighborhood up.

6. Magnaflow mufflers and tips: SummitRaching.com: Magnaflow #10415 ; Tips: #SUM-690032. Total cost: $200. Cost to install: 150 (tip included): $350 total. I left the resonator after speaking a to Ford tech who recommended I not delete for warranty purposes (if I took the car to them). The mufflers sound great, exactly what I wanted. BUT, if I had it all over to do again, I would leave the mufflers stock. I’d upgrade to the Roush intake and let the “swoosh” sound come through vs. the loud mufflers. Shop who performed the job: Fast Lane Performance Muffler, 12409 Crain Hwy, Brandywine, MD 20613, 301-782-3737

Might be a noob question, but with a muffler delete do you smell any smoke or any codes given?

2-3K quite unless accelerating and it's a low audible tone. You'll be fine.

show7ime, if I wanted to same exact sound that you ecoboost is producing, what do I need to tell my exhaust shop to get them to do the same thing?

Thanks!

Thanks!

2.5 pipe with 3.5 tips (if I recall correctly). The chrome tips were from the shop.

Most do a resonator and muffler delete. I wasn't a particular fan of the resonator delete sound. Mad it sound too "import" for my taste. On a 4 banger the sound improvement is marginal with an exhaust system when compared with how it would just sound with a muffler delete and some work from an exhaust shop. Just my opinion. So I figured to save some money for now until I decide down the road to do actual exhaust work.

Letting the BOV vent to atmosphere with the muffler delete gives me the sound I want and how I think a 4 banger with turbo should sound.

Damn the shop is quoting me 250-300 for the install. That's some BS

I paid 180 for parts and labor.

Paying more than 200 is too much.

It's just muffler delete and add 2.5 pipes and 3.5 tips correct?

I don't need to touch the BOV or anything?

I went with 4 inch tips. You don't need to touch the BOV unless you want to vent to the atmospher
