Wet/snow mode is just a gimmick and maybe even dangerous as gives people a false sense of security.

Yes and no, wet mode make the gas pedal lazy, so pressing it more gives you same amount of power as other other modes, just gotta press harder.

What wet mode does do is bring in stability control and traction control much sooner.

If you can hold a slide then simply test it on a wet roundabout, car in normal, in the wet, give it loud pedal in normal mode and the car will get some slip angle, in some cases quite a lot which some owners won't be able to catch and end up spinning or it coming back hard in other direction and spitting you of the road.

Now do same in wet mode, even floor the throttle to the floor like a complete muppets and just as you feel the rear about to go power will cut and stability control will keep the rear in check so for those getting a little bit carried away on a roundabout exit or corner exit but are not particular skillful behind the wheel the wet mode will pretty much save their ass.

Of course if you in too fast, no fancy computer or traction algorithm will save you. But most of these cars get crashed in winter months when owners get a bit heavy on right foot on roundabouts, slip roads and country lanes and normal mode simply allows to much slip angle by which time weight transfer has taken over and your in the field or have smashed the curb.

Wet mode for many is quite useful, if your a DK or a driving god, then yes your far better off with car in track mode or just everything switched off.

I find the traction control to be very sketchy, the only difference with wet/snow mode is like you say it makes throttle response more lazy but I've had the back go in wet/snow mode even when driving like Miss Daisy.

Well same scenario, in normal it would let go more.

Wet mode is quite handy for those who want some additional security net as the traction control system on Mustang is pretty good as in normal mode it won't interfere anywhere near to level as a BMW would with DSC on.

I found on my Mustang:
Wet mode = Cuts in marginally sooner than say BMW DSC ON
Normal = Cuts in bit slower than BMW DSC ON
Sport = Cuts in about same as BMW Track mode on older BMW's.
Track mode = On par with modern BMW MDM mode, in short very relaxed.

For those coming from FWD hot hatches with not much RWD experience, the wet mode can be quite invaluable feature on the Mustang.

As an update

Following another phone call, I've going with a set of MPSS.

The Ford spec MP4S aren't available until late May either.

Is that the 275/40 R19 Y (105) rated tyres?

Looking on Blackcircles I can get a full set of 255/40 R19 Y (96) for the Ecoboost, but not the 275/40 R19 Y (105) that the GT requires. More options available as well in the EB spec, I can get Toyo Proxes for about ÂŁ100 less a set over the MP4S.

Not checked Camskill.

I knew there were lots of ways the EB is cheaper to run than the GT. It's not just the VED. :D

Is the EB cheaper than ÂŁ140 a year road tax?
Well, it was cheaper when I bought mine. No idea what it's going to cost this year, haven't checked yet!

I may be in a GT by the end of the month anyway. So I can enjoy the nice noise and extra power and will try not to stress about the extra running costs.

Let's hope they make a decent amount to satisfy demand. I'd like some MP4S but they haven't been readily available for ages.

Not forgetting £100 back on a set of 4 19’s from Michelin.

Cheaper "Initial tax" on it, which really, we never pay as it's with the dealer; but, yes, 140 gt, 250 eb.
