MPG Computer Not Accurate?

Mine's been really close, well within 0.5 MPG one way or another. I think it's close enough to believe.

I do know the "miles to go" bounces around a lot, I think it weights the estimate more towards the last 10-30 minutes of driving rather than the longer-term average. That would be a more "conservative" way to go if you're on the HP, but probably not as accurate as using the last 300-400 miles.

I checked mine a few times when I first bought the car and it was essentially right on. My 2011 used to always give a number ~1 mpg lower than hand calculations. The 2011 with 3.73s got around 19-20 and the 2015 with the standard gears is more like 21, both on my daily commute. Not sure whether the gearing, aero or some other factor is the main reason why there's a difference. I would definitely trade 2 mpg for the fun factor of the 3.73 gears. They were well worth it.

Im talking about a few on there that have driven the 3.15's in the V6 and then also tested the 3.55's with the auto tranny in both and they said that the 3.55's bar none were way to go with the auto/V6...so I would assume that would somewhat apply to the GT also (then again the GT has torque all the way for night and day)

GT doesn't really have that much torque in the part of the tach you use day-to-day, especially with the automatic in "D" which upshifts by 1,500 rpm.
