I currently have a replacement front grill as per the first and second photos. I am wondering if I have lost some of the aggressiveness of the front end with this grill, in particular losing the ‘fangs’ and whether it would be better to modify the standard grill with mesh (as per the third and forth photos) and run the Tribar on that.

What do you all think?

Eh, who cares if it's aggressive as long as you like it? I absolutely love the 50 years grille I have on my car and wouldn't trade it for any version of a GT grille.

I personally like the bars in the grille. Sounds like you do too or you wouldn't ask.

I personally like both styles. I think both look pretty aggressive, and way better than the stock plastic honeycomb grille. I kept the fangs on mine, and fitted a mesh grille from Custom Car Grilles, then applied a Coyote badge. Every time I see it, I have to stop and look.

I think with your badge on there it looks good and breaks up the large section of mesh. I am not sure it would look as clean if you went back to the three-section grille and still wanted to run the tri-bar pony. Not sure about the "aggressiveness," but I would vote for leaving it as is. Looks great!

Side note, I have mesh from CCG coming to me to use with the factory grille, but I don't plan on adding any badges.
