Isn't that near the limit of the stock fuel injectors ?
E85 needs uprated injectors as would race fuel.
Otherwise 550HP crank stockers are fine, also remember a good tuner will fine tune the power curve to remain safe on fuelling levels.

I'm with them and have never seen one of those forms.

Told them over the phone what the mods were and they just added them.

The only thing they wanted to know the BHP increase of was the tune. In fact, they were the only one of 4 big companies that would even cover the tune.

Think my first year was a bit over £700 (started with limited mileage!), then the renewal was over £900 once I added the tune. Robbing fucks.

I hate insurance companies.
I asked FLux re insurance and they told me they had managed to secure a great deal with my mods (inc HP increase) ..they told me a price of £850 and that was after they had haggled with the underwriter. I told them I had found cheaper so they said we might match. When I told them they would have to knock £400 quid off to get close to A Plan, they hung up. I have always found FLux to be a bunch of chancers with any "special car" ..God knows why I keep ringing them!

I used A plan Thatcham branch which is the branch that handles highly modified. All they wanted was Rear wheel hp,so I stated 600 rwhp but it is short of that at present which gives me scope for some more power mods without having to inform them as long as I stay close to 600.Equally I would like to see them try to prove the HP is more than stated if a claim is made.

CAI: Only works with a tune but is worth 10HP
TB: 8-10HP, again only works with tune! (Not as smooth at low RPM)
350 Mani: 20-30HP tuned
Kooks: 30-40HP
Catback: 0-5HP
Lund: 20-30HP

All the above should see you at 520-550HP crank once the tune is properly dialled in based on Vpower99 fuel. If you run regular unleaded it will be around 500-530HP and if you run junk undleaded probably around 500HP.

The fuel makes a huge difference to the power once tuned, simply due to Octane rating, Lund leaves the tune adaptive switched on, so if you chucked in 100 octane race fuel you'd make more power again.

If you want to run vegetable aka E85 you need to request a flex tune, though doubtful for UK owners as E85 is hard to source but is like high Octane or in RON terms around 105 RON for power and has fantastic knock resistance.

The lower the fuel quality the more prone to knock you become. ;)

@Gibbo
If I was to put on Kooks headers / green cats ,BUT keep the Whipple tune which apparently is ok to do would my HP increase be greater than the 30-40 hp that you quoted for N/A ,due to the higher rate of air with the Whipple.?
