And it was awesome! [emoji1] The reception and attention the new Mustang gets is unreal! We literally couldn't leave because someone else would come up to talk to us about it. Be warned [emoji14]
That's how I felt at supercarsunday.com yesterday morning

And it felt great!

Yeah, the thumbs up are great. Lot's of comments too... "Look that's a'15" or "wow, that looks amazing in person".

I'm not used to the attention, but this car is awesome. I'd want to take a peek too... Hell, I find myself going to the garage now and then to take a peek at random hours :p

The Omaha Mustang Club is going to be in the Veterans day Parade on Saturday in Bellevue. They are lining cars from oldest to newest. My car will be "the" 2015, all alone in the back. I am looking forward to this! Ill report on the attention on Saturday Afternoon, or Sunday, whenever i am allowed to get home. :)

-- "That's a cute car!" -- attractive 20-something girl.

I don't know if I'd take that as a compliment. Last thing you'd want to hear about your sports car is it's 'cute'...

:p
When you're my age, anytime a young hottie comes up to talk to you, it's a good thing.

Besides, I'm used to hearing that -- I also drive a Miata.

I used to get a ton of comments when I first picked up my '12 GT. I can only imagine what it'll be like with the '15.

Other than my wife, (and my sons 700 miles away) no one knows I have a car on order. (It's not even "Facebook Official!) Planning to just show up at work with it one morning next week (he said, hopefully!)
My sons and my wife have told everyone about the car.

But it's only gonna last for so long. :(

It's a Mustang, a damn good looking one for sure; but in a year when we'll all be seeing them at just about every single corner of every street, they'll all just be Mustangs; everyone's getting mobbed now because they're brand new and just coming out with all the hype. But once the number of them on the street goes up, I don't think they'll be nearly as "mobby" as they are now. Think of it like a Ferrari right now; there are so few right now that you've got this feeling of exclusivity, but when more people start to buy and drive them, then it's just another car on the road, maybe even at car shows too. :(

Or at least I know for sure this will be the case here in Michigan. Maybe it's just the jealousy in me not having one, and probably not for years, speaking out right now, but it's true to some respect. Sorry for being a downer.

There is some truth to that, but it is just a better looking car - BY A LONG SHOT - than the Mustang has been for a long time. Like 20 years. I don't know about you but I still turn my head and stare at cars like Audi A5's and Infiniti G37s, and while those are somewhat less common than Mustangs obviously, a good-looking car is a head turner no matter how long it's been around. The new Mustang definitely fits into that category, while the previous ones did not.

Mobbed at gas stations forever? No, but this car will get looks for a good long while.

Yes. Examples:

-- Thumbs up while driving.
-- Two separate WRX's revving their engines trying to get me to race on the highway.
-- Several "Transformers" comments at the local drive-thru - never seen the movies, must be the yellow.
-- "Is that a body kit"?
-- People knocking on my window to ask about the car while I'm in the car before a sales call.
-- "That's got the V8, right"? -- based on the rear 50 years badge ( mistaken for 5.0 ).
-- Being shadowed on the highway and pictures taken.
-- "That's a cute car!" -- attractive 20-something girl.
-- When washing the car in the driveway, cars driving by stopping to take a look.

And many, many more. It's non-stop....
A guy pulled up beside me at a traffic light and said "Hey! Does that have a HEMI?" :headbonk:

Every car is like that. When the new wears off it becomes ho hum, but that's why new cars are exciting.

To me thats a positive to waiting. I want the car, but not necessarily the attention.

I'm not so sure about that..Because at every car show I've been to, every time someone sees a Lambo, everyone flocks to it as fast as possible, cameras and DSLRs in hand.

But I'm happy to see the S550 getting some rock star attention.:headbang:

We are talking about american mass produced cars, not 200k exotics. My Merc gets attention but mainly from gold digging women.
