You work? You drive. LOL. JK

700 is plenty good. Many dealers will lie and say no it's not good enough but do your own APR shopping and walk into the dealership with a check from the bank. Works like a charm. However, I have never paid any interest on a car loan. I always shop for 0% apr then pull the trigger. Almost all the manufacturer now offers 0% apr, you just have to wait for the right time. The only thing i'll pay is the tax. Roll the payments into monthly (interest free - yay) and invest the saved up down payment some where.

All three of my FICO scores were in the 750-765 range and I got 5% for 72 months.. Lol.

First new car.. always bought used cash, never made any big purchases on credit, my total credit limit was at only $16,000

Got this from a credit forum recently. A decent point of reference for anyone interested. I believe it was posted by a member who owns a dealership.

I have a 700 with a rebuilt history on my credit and I got approved for $38g @ 1.8%APR. That being said, I also just purchased a house in the last year. I also have a ton of credit accounts open to keep me in good standings now that I have rebuilt my credit.

The dealer I bought my current S550 from said 715 was all that was needed for qualifying for the last 0% labor day sale. They said even if you are a few points away, they would talk with Ford Credit to get you approved.

I had a 712 score when i bought mine. I also put $9k down. My rate for a 72 month loan is 3%. If i wanted 0%, i had to take the 48 month loan. IDK if that helps or not, but each dealer/state is different.

Put 15k down, financed 26,xxx K, APR is 8%.
Ouch, our credit scores are around 835 and have been for years. Make sure to take care of it, use common sense and do not carry balances on high interest loans (credit cards, etc.), always make payments on time. I think my loan on the Mustang is at 2.5% rate, but will be paid off this year.
