oh I did, they gave me 200 off, also found traces of broken glass on the passenger side, green glass like a beer bottle was smashed along the window trim
I hope you got a smoking deal on that..

Looking for used S550s and I'm curious about what your experiences have been with the mileage.

I'm seeing many in the 45K miles neighborhood and am curious if it's worth paying $1K-$2K for one with under 30K miles.

If I go the cheaper route - will I be facing a large maintenance interval soon? How much does regular maintenance run you guys for the intervals?

Thanks
It really depends on how the miles were put on the car. 45K miles on a well maintained daily drive or 30K on a car that has be run to death racing. The best thing to do is check to see the ownership of the car. If owned by someone under 20 I'd be weary of how it was treated. Not saying that people under 20 don't take care of their cars, but face it, most kids under 20 don't have the free cash to properly maintain their car and keep a roof over their heads.

This is the best logic I can give you. Buy the newest car with the lowest mileage your budget will allow. That makes the other stuff moot.

I agree with what NoVaGT said. Again the lowest mileage that you can afford.

I disagree completely with buying the newest car you can afford. I would prefer a higher miles car if a careful, detailed inspection showed that it was better maintained and gently driven over a low miles car that was hammered every day of its life.

Most important IMO is a good inspection of the vehicle.

If you can find a pp gt with 20k miles with the original pirelli summer tires on the rear, id say its def worth it. I baby my gtpp and i bought it new, never spun the tires just drive her on the weekends. A gt is very hit or miss used, some have hard 20k miles some have easy 40k miles and the one with more miles may be better depending on previous owner. Thats why its always better if you can talk to the original owner. If not look at the rear tires!

Id go the cheap car higher miles route. The coyote is a beast. If you get an automatic the 6r80 is also very durable. Tires and brakes are routine maintaince. I doubt you’ll keep the car more than a few years. The mileage doesn’t mean squat with a sports car. My car has 15k miles on it. And I bet half of those miles were earned a quarter mile at a time.

Recently sold my 15 GTpp

I recently sold my 15 performance pack GT..27000 miles no maintenance issues ever. Never tracked it but had to replace those rear summer tires.. Other than tires car held up well..My last one before that was a 2007 GT/CS that I traded with 96,000 Miles traded it in 2014.....never replaced brakes just tires and 1 battery..I guess I have been lucky.

If you get one with miles just check it for body work and suspension issues on the test drive..and don’t trust CarFax ...my 2007 GT was in a front end collision 11 K in damage and dealer sold it and says 0 accidents even though I told them and their body shop “fixed” it in 2008.
