When do mustang usually get a mid-cycle refresh?

I know it sounds crazy to ask this when they have just come out but I know the camaro will be coming out soon. I assume Ford will try to one up the new camaro when it comes out with either power or maybe magnaride. I am trying to decided if i should get a stang now or wait until the mid-cycle refresh.

Refresh are usually 3 to a maximum of 5 years... though some things might come up sooner than that though very minor if anything noticeable.... I think the 2013 to the 2014 had a minor change

Get a 2015. You only live once! Drive the hell out of it and then trade it in for the refresh.

if you keep waiting for the next best thing, then you will always be waiting and never ever driving, because every time, its going to get better (unless it is a Mustang II refresh....) if you like the S550, then get it now and enjoy it.

That is true!!!! I am happy with my focus st for the mean time. I actually bought it to hold me off until this mustang came out. I could just order one now or wait until the initial rush is over and get one when rebates start showing up. With rebates I will jump into a premium.

Ditto.

If you look at history, the S197 went from 2005 to 2009 before a restyle, then was changed in 2010. This lasted until 2013, when there was a new front and rear fascia different from 2010 to 2012. The SN-95 Mustangs stayed the same style from 1994 to 1998, then changed in 1999 and stayed the same until 2004.

It seems possible there might be a faster styling update, but I would not anticipate any major body panel changes until 2018. This is only my opinion.

I do think you'll see Mustang do something next year with an update to combat the Camaro...whether it's a few new colors, maybe offering some different packages/hp upgrades and maybe in the '16 reducing the weight some (by using the aluminum doors in the '16)

Keep in mind they pumped engine specs from 2010 to 2011 for the V6 and GT.

Consensus seems to be '17/'18MY for the first refresh.......hopefully DI on the Coyote and a 10-speed auto along with front/rear fascia changes.

I suspect '16MY will see some new options/colours (PP on Auto, perhaps).
