Fast forward to about the 3 minute mark you can clearly see it hits the rev limiter at 195mph. You can even hear the driver say "hit the limiter at 195".
Ah, yes you are right. The clip I saw was a shortened version. It only played the part where he was talking on the radio.

195 it is

This is the reason the PP loses the 1/4 mile contest. 4th gear is done right before the traps, and you have to shift to 5th. There goes 0.2 seconds.
I ran 12,6 at 115 mph sunday,finished in 4th gear around 7200 rpms.PP car 373 gears.

What is your point? Your car isn't stock.

the henessey video tops out at 195 due to drag to power ratio limitations. The gear itself tops out much higher.
This is correct.

He either misspoke or was referring to something else.

6th gear is 0.65. Combined with 3.73 gears and 275/40/19 tires with a 7,000rpm redline calculates to 238mph.

It is entirely plausible that Hennessey changed gear ratios with their test car as attempting a top speed run with 3.73 gears is not a logical decision especially for a shop.

Grimace that's what I thought as well, but if you look at the long video you can see the Tach and it tops out. Plus the rate at which he was accelerating he had a bit more in it.

Don't know why but it seems the math is wrong lol

nice ninja edit haha

It was never officially released for each gear. So you have two options: Do the math and hope the calculation is right or trial by error lol

I posted the gear ratio calculator in my post above. The program is a lot of fun to use and makes more sense when you start changing the variables.

MT-82 gear ratios are:
  1. 3.66
  2. 2.43
  3. 1.69
  4. 1.32
  5. 1.00
  6. 0.65
6R80 gear ratios:
  1. 4.17
  2. 2.34
  3. 1.52
  4. 1.14
  5. 0.87
  6. 0.69
Input your tire size and rear gear ratio. Don't forget your rev limit. I use 7,000 most of the time but some people use 6,850 for 100% stock tunes. My personal car goes to 7,600 so put the rev limit you have in your car.

On my gt pp ive tried to hit the rev limiter to get it to 60 in second and did not work you definitely need to shift to third to hit 60. I think 3.55's are this cars optimal gear

Or taller tires or higher rev limiter.
