Installing a remote start on a manual just seems like a really bad idea IMO. I remember a thread from a few years ago where some dude installed a remote start on his GT. IIRC, the guy was a weapons grade moron and had bypassed the neutral safety switch when he installed the remote start. Car got taken to a dealer for warranty work, and while it was there an employee hit the remote start and the car ended up in a lake.

EDIT: Found it

They replied back saying that they use Viper remote start systems. They wouldn't give a price over email. I'll have to call and see how many limbs it will cost me.

ok so i called fortin and asked about the firmware.... they havent had a manual car in to test yet!!! in theory the firmware should work as ids lets you enable factory remote start on a manual (even tho there is no kit). So im going to give this a shot and report back.

The amount of people telling the owner to blame the dealer and sue them to replace his car is making my head hurt. It's clearly the owners fault not disclosing about the unsafe remote start. That's like putting a bomb in your car and take it to a dealer and somehow it blew up on their lot then blaming the dealer it's their fault for hitting the unlock twice.
