Oh yes I know it's possible to have this option, I want it too, but any business including mobile services having the software wont do it for you legally

Here's the basic idea done with IR instead of wire.
http://www.eeinspired.com/NSS.html

This can also be done with springs and simplified a bit.

Not a mustang (obviously)

I've also seen people use a magnet and switch on the actual linkage so that the stick must be in center neutral for the circuit to complete.
This. When I was an installer back in the early 90's, I used home alarm magnets. wired it like a neutral light on a motorcycle. depending on the transmition, it was usually pretty easy.

We would not install it for any customers, but most of us did it to our own car.

2015/16 Mustang with stick shift has 4 buttons remote.
It's illegal to have 5 buttons remote with remote start on stick shift.
You can unable the option for remote start but you need a special software.
I don't recommend it!
It is not "illegal".

Just no one will do it for liability reasons. You would never get a citation or criminal charge for such a thing.

I've had a remote start on my manual car for 12yrs and it has never remote started on me in gear. The trick for my car is it has a neutral safety wire at the transmission that reads ground when in nuetral and an open circuit when in gear. The remote starts neutral safety wire connects to it so any time is in gear it won't start. Most cars don't have this wire so have to make gate or switch around the shifter. I've done this using mag switches or ball bearing switches which aren't 100% reliable. The best way I've done that hasn't failed on me yet is grounding the shifter rod and making a spring gate around the shifter that connects to a relay then the nuetral saftey wire of the alarm, basically making a nuetral safety switch similar to the pic above from drbrian722.

But at the end of the day there's always some risk if it's not done right. Not every installer is created equal!!!!!

Just thought I'd let you all know that Fortin has the bypass for the 2015 Mustang available. I was quoted about $700 parts and labor including a two way remote with interior temperature, windows up and down, and automatically turning on the rear defogger and drivers heated seat when below a predefined temp.
The down side is the logic on the Fortin bypass requires the remote be pressed before turning off the car to arm the remote start. I'm still waiting for the omega who's logic is much more friendly.

First, I'll share my horror story. When I was in high school, I worked at Best Buy as a mobile installer. My manager had a 2001 Mustang Cobra with an override. He lent it to a coworker to get food for him. That guy left it in gear and no brake. He started it and watched it take off right into one of those concrete light poles! Not good!

Now, that was 14 years ago. Have you tried using something like a Rasperry Pi and some switches to check and send a signal if the e-brake is not up AND if it's in gear. If so, cut the signal from the starter wire coming out of the remote starter module?

I had remote start on my 65 mustang. I had converted it to a fox body T5z transmission. Those had a neutral safety switch built in, so it was a no brainer. Most cars have the safety switch in the clutch pedal. I would never rely on an aftermarket neutral safety switch.

Probably a dumb noob question... but why isn't a sort of remote start done from the factory to just turn ACC on? That way you could get a little air blowing and circulation during the summer

That is just a crappy install then.

All remote starts for aftermarket have several safety circuits you can use, or be lazy and not use to avoid this.

#1 - The remote start should not have engaged with no parking brake. So the installer in this case did not wire that.

#2 - No neutral Safety switch was created

I know hind site is 20/20, but at a bare minimum, you should wire the car to not start without a parking brake being on.

I'm on Fortin's website and I don't see anything for 2016/17 manual transmissions. Everything says automatic.

Your A/C is belt driven. Turning just the blower on would circulate the hot in air in your cabin, which would do nothing for you. You need to force cold air in, requiring the A/C to be on, which in return requires the engine running. If you just want a small improvement in cabin temperature, hit the unlock button twice and keep holding it down the second time. This will roll the windows down for you from a distance.

That is correct, they don't have anything for the manual. They say they're working on it (I emailed them), but nothing even remotely close to an ETA yet.

Integrating into the OEM starter function is lazy...lol

There's a place in Greencastle PA that installs them on manuals. I sent in an email asking for a quote and to see what system they use. When I find out I'll fill everyone in.
