The MT-82 can handle abuse, if you are not ham fisted. Mine lived for over 3 years, 85,000 miles and 50+ track passes. Then, the guy I sold it to blew the 5th gear synchro in a week. From what I have read, the clutch is the issue with the EB. The MT-82 should be fine.
The auto will be quicker. While there is more parasitic loss with the auto, there is also consistency, ease of launch and the magic of a torque converter. I bought an auto. An auto turbo car is a perfect combo.

There are only a couple guys out there with manuals with times right now, WMS being one. I am sure stock to stock, the manual will be quicker due to less parasitic loss. I did see a video ( by AM ) where there was a manual going up against an auto at the strip and the manual was quicker. Is there a thread with timeslips, or videos that show that this is true?
