For those that have trouble with datalogging, we feel your pain. Our new nGauge makes datalogging a snap. No PC needed for logging, no special software.

Glad things went well Tyler. I'm jealous, my VMP is still in the box but not for long!
Ken...question for you. Did you primarily go with the VMP because of Justins tuning capibilitys? The reason I'm asking is the VMP and Ford/Roush are basically identical...yes?

Do you know if the VMP requires the same cut and grind on the block as the F/Roush? I would think that it does.

Another member just posted a very nice photo and install of the Whipple and he is currently have a bit of a tune issue. Throttle chop at 6500 rpm on dyno and a throttle blip at lower driving speeds. I'm just saying that this isn't the first post with Whipple tune issues.

I'm not slamming any manufactures at all. I'm just trying to figure out if the Ford/Roush advantage is that Ford has helped in the tune development. Many others have posted that the 2015 ECU is a challenge at this point.

as I mentioned before, every "production" kit has tune issues.

Ken is one of the tuners for lund racing, they are the premiere tuning house for mustangs in the country

ken will be tuning the car himself

ken / lund racing can tune the vmp, the roush, the whipple, the vortech and Paxton, the procharger, their fluid turbo kit, etc..

I finally figure out my data logging issue. The usb cable I got with the sct wasn't working correctly. Now I got that figured out there should be another Lund remote tune supercharged car very shortly.

Ok! Thanks...I didn't know who Ken is. Does that include the F/Roush? Only because I haven't read of any. Of course you would know better than I.

No, the VMP and Roush are not identical. The VMP has a different inlet which I prefer. I'll be tuning my car which means it will be Lund tuned. Just like all the other fast coyotes you always hear about. :) This gives us a huge advantage in tuning these if it's on my daily driver.

Not sure who tuned the Whipple car you are talking about but I tuned Lethal's Whipple car that has already been 10.3s and it drives outstanding. Lund Racing has already successfully tuned VMP, Whipple, Kenne Bell, Procharger and Vortech. Most other tuning companies may have touched one of those so far and are still trying to figure out the 2015 computer. We have 3 highly skilled tuners on staff in different parts of the country and no one can match the reach we have. Which means we touch more cars than anyone. That gives us more data than anyone and very refined tunes in a short period of time. Tyler is a good example of that. No one could tune his car AT ALL and it's already running well after a few revisions. And once I get the blower on my car, our VMP tune will be so refined, well, you get the point.

Have you ever driven a car with a past FRPP/Roush cal? Drives good but about about the weakest tune you could get. Probably because they are selling these tunes to the masses and you get one tune, no logging, no revisions, and you can't make any changes. So it has to be sandbagged and work across slight variances between vehicles and most importantly they have to consider warranty. We regularly retune 11-14 Roush cars and pick up huge chunks of power. I can't speak of the 15+ Roush tune since I haven't dyno'd a car with one yet.

Thanks very much for the reply Ken. I do have a few questions that maybe some other members could benefit from if you wouldn't mind. In regards to Ford/Roush, Whipple and VMP SC, as far as I can figure out, The Ford/Roush and Whipple kits both require that you send them your PCM for flash calibration, which are basically refered to as canned or conservitive tunes. The VMP, if I'm correct does not require you to ship them the PCM, they supply you with the tune if you already have a tuner or the supply you with both a tuner w/tune.

1. If you have either the Ford/Roush or Whipple, do you have to send them your PCM or can you just get a tune for either from Lund?

2. If you do send either of the Ford/Roush or Whipple and send them the PCM for flash Cal., and then have Lund do a tune, does Lund supply a tuner that strips/stores the tune supplied by the others and than up load the lund tune?

I do apprciate you information and patients with a novice. I just don't want to screw this up and I want the car to drive right without all kinds of tuning issues.

1) No need to ever send your PCM away if you don't want. You can start directly with Lund Racing.

2) We are currently doing our remote tuning with SCT and I can't say for sure if they are doing a true backup. It doesn't appear so. Our nGauge tuner should do a backup on normal calibrations but I believe that some of the tunes you mention lock out the PCM so this may not work. This may be this way to enforce their warranty.

No one who has switched to our tuning has mentioned going back or that it is a concern. Most people are just thrilled to have their car running well finally.

It's a direct bolt on. The 15 kit has been modified to clear the hood.... Manifold and head units shortened. Looks OEM... is built and tested on the same exact gear as every Ford blower from the Trinity to the Ford Performance /Roush. But ours will simply outperform the others with our better airflow. We make 900 tire through an auto on our 11 drag car. Ken's VMP GEN II on his 15 looks killer and he's doing amazing things with the cal.

I've been tuning on my car non stop. I absolutely love it. We will be releasing a new tune update to VMP customers on Monday based on my car.
